8. Winter walk to the chapel in the wood

Description of the way

From the Berghotel (1370 m) along the river to church of Sesto. 100 m before the church near the Gasthof Goldenes Kreuz starts the Consideration way 4D (Bergweg) which takes to the chapel in the wood passing some farmhouses. You will notice that the forest around the chapel in the wood is mystical and during fascism time (between the 2 wars) the inhabitants of Sesto used the church for messes in german. To proceed we take the path nr. 4 and then 2 making a right to the Waldruhe (good restaurant with a wonderful terrace). Here we turn left up along a short piece of street to the Holzer farm and than further on a wonderful narrow path until the restaurant Panorama. Going back we take the path to the Helmhang hut/rifugio Pendio Monte Elmo – Berghotel or the way 3, which brings us directly back to the Berghotel.
